Canadian GP Schedule 2023: Formula 1

Track Schedule

F1 track action starts on Friday at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve with two, 1-hour free practice sessions (FP1 & FP2) for teams to find the perfect setup.

Free practice 3 (FP3) takes place on Saturday afternoon, building up to qualifying; a 3-part session where lap times decide starting positions for the Grand Prix on Sunday.

Pit Stop Practice

Try not to blink if you have a view of the pits. This is where pit crews hone their skills for the 2-second tyre change.

Pit stop Practice at the Canadian GP is from 11:20 – 11:50 on Saturday morning.

Track Parade

This is when the grandstands really start to fill up. 2 hours before lights out, drivers warm-up for the race by waving at fans and answering questions. Last chance photo op before the helmets go on.

The driver’s parade at the Canadian GP is from 11:50 – 12:20 on Sunday afternoon.

Canadian GP Schedule 2023: Support Races

F-1600

A North American entry level, open-wheel series that uses formula ford cars. After karting this is often the first step on the ladder to a career in Indycar.

The action starts with a 30 minute practice on Friday morning and qualifying for race one in the afternoon. Saturday sees two of the three races. The third race gets underway on Sunday.

Ferrari Challenge North America

The Ferrari Challenge is a one make sports car series where drivers compete with the Ferrari 488.

Friday features three 20-30 minute sessions for practice. On Saturday, qualifying and race one get underway in the morning and in the evening fans can watch qualifying for race two. The final race is held on Sunday.
