Best Grandstands at the Las Vegas Grand Prix

East Harmon Grandstand

HIGH BUDGET TV SCREEN COVERED RESERVED SEATS

The East Harmon Grandstand (PG1) is the main grandstand at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Offering prime viewing of crucial race moments such as pit stops and the start, it’s a solid choice of the venue’s grandstands.

For optimal views, the right side of the stand provides a clear view of Turn 1, while seating closer to the start line offers better views of the pits, the start and cars coming off the final turn.

Middle rows have a good view of the pits, while the upper rows allow spectators to see the Sphere over the top of the pit building, adding to the sense of place.

Avoid the very highest and lowest seats if you can, both of which have some visibility issues. Some spectators noted that a lighting structure obstructed views of the pits, especially in seats near the Skybox.

Remember to pack those binoculars to watch the goings on in the pits – it’s always a fun way to pass the time between track sessions, especially given the dearth of support races in Vegas.

Elsewhere in the East Harmon don’t expect anywhere near the level of off-track entertainment as the buzzing Sphere Zone. This was however where driver and team principal interviews were held in 2023 and musical acts can be watched on the giant screens.

The grandstands are easily accessible from nearby hotels, making them a convenient choice for fans.

West Harmon Grandstand

The West Harmon Grandstand (HG2) is the most budget-friendly grandstand at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Located on a fast section of the track, these seats offer views of cars speeding down the straight before entering the pit lane.

While the grandstands provide a fantastic sense of speed, some fans found the views less than ideal, with limited visibility of braking zones, turns and overtakes.

Fans sitting in the top rows can enjoy a broader view of the straight and the high-speed corner, while those in lower rows might find their view more restricted.

As well as the lacklustre view, in 2023 this zone lacked any substantial off-track entertainment or amenities found elsewhere at the circuit. Of course, unlike the view, this may improve.

Access to the West Harmon Grandstands is relatively easy, with a short walk from nearby hotels.

Overall, West Harmon is a good choice for budget-conscious fans who prioritize being part of the race-day atmosphere over premium viewing experiences.

Sphere Zone Grandstands

MID BUDGET TV SCREEN COVERED RESERVED SEATS GOOD FOR PHOTOS

The Sphere zone hosts the most numerous grandstands and a general admission area too. An instant icon among the city’s many legendary landmarks when it was completed ahead of the 2023 race, the sphere-shaped music and entertainment arena dominates this area.

The track here comprises several slow corners from turn 5 to turn 9. The low-speed nature gives plenty of time to take it all in and get the best photos of the cars with this spectacular backdrop to boot.

Speaking of that backdrop, SG8 is one grandstand here that you might want to avoid since it faces the opposite direction, though the view of the track is every bit as good.

There are four other grandstands in this zone – SG1, SG4, SG5 and SG6 and they all provide satisfying views of the action.

Las Vegas is a Grand Prix with a sense of occasion like no other and nowhere is that more keenly felt than here. This is the circuit’s stadium section; the many fans packed into this area creating an unbeatable atmosphere.

When you’re not being pleasingly deafened by F1 cars or the roar of the crowd, this is also the epicentre of off-track entertainment. There will be little time to twiddle your thumbs between track sessions here with a slew of musical acts taking to the stage throughout the evening.
